May We Show our Appreciation
May brings us two very important causes to promote being that it is both Foster Care Month and National Mental Health Awareness Month.
We kicked off our efforts with our annual Foster and Adoptive Parent Appreciation Banquet on May 3 to celebrate and thank our foster parents for the dedication and love they so selflessly give to the children they welcome into their homes. The work we do to place kids in safe and happy homes would not be possible without our foster parents. We echo the sentiment of our partners at Franklin County Children Services to honor Foster Care Month and encourage you to consider the concept of “Foster Hope, Foster Love” and learn more about becoming a foster parent with YAS by contacting our Recruitment Coordinator Anita Godfrey at 614.285.3767.
We also honor Mental Health Awareness Month and encourage you to learn more about Mental Health by visiting: www.nami.org to follow this year’s theme “Into Mental Health: Inspired, Informed, Involved.” The more that we know, the more that we can help those who are in need. YAS is a proud community mental health provided in Franklin County.
