YAS Names First Employee of the Quarter
YAS has recently implemented a way to recognize the outstanding qualities and contributions of employees towards departmental and agency goals and mission by awarding an Employee of the Quarter.
We are pleased to announce that YAS’ employee of the quarter is Foster Care Family Counselor Sasha Downey. When asked why Sasha is deserving of this award, words like “team oriented, follow-through, initiative, and quality customer care” came forward. These are all true about Sasha.
Sasha shows commitment to her team. She cares about her work, the team, and the team’s work. For example, Sasha had already met and surpassed her productivity goal a few months before the end of the fiscal year and she asked how many more hours SHE had to get for her TEAM to make its overall goal. She strives to help her fellow team members succeed.
Sasha is hard working and consistently follows through with her work. This makes a difference for our agency. Over the past year, Sasha has made incredible strides to follow YAS’ policy to complete client care notes within 48 hours of the visit with the client – she went from an average of over 2 weeks to just under 24 hours. She did this without missing other details or deadlines, or affecting client care. It shows that she cares and follows procedures for the better of the agency as well as for the better of her clients and the services she provides them.
When Sasha saw a need for a training, and knew her team members or program director did not have the time to develop said training, she took the initiative to create a PowerPoint presentation that will be used to train staff about Crisis Line procedures. Not only did this show a dedication to her team and agency, but also showed willingness to develop and strengthen her own skills as a professional.
And above all, clients as well as staff trust Sasha with their needs. Hearing Sasha interact with her clients, we know she is proud of the work she does each day. We are all proud of Sasha and thank and congratulate her for being an exemplary employee and being named our first Employee of the Quarter!
